Flying in to Attend Quality Talks?
As you are making your travel plans to get to Washington, DC for this year’s Quality Talks, you might be wondering which airport is most convenient. There are three airports near the DC providing you with a number of options for booking your flight.
Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA)
Ronald Reagan National Airport is Washington, DC’s main airport serving the city and its surrounding metropolitan areas. DCA is the nearest commercial airport and is located in Crystal City, Virginia. Located ~ 3.7 miles from the Quality Talks event site, it is the most convenient airport for a quick trip in and out of the city. You can take DC’s Metrorail service from the airport to the event site or take a cab or ridesharing service. Plan on between 15 and 45 minutes of transportation time between the airport and event venue depending on the mode of transportation and traffic.
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
Washington Dulles International Airport is located in Louden and Fairfax Counties in Virginia approximately 26 miles outside of downtown DC. It is a larger airport than Ronald Reagan National Airport giving you potentially more flight options to the District. You can ride DC’s Metrorail service from Dulles, take a cab or ridesharing service or rent a car. If you take the Metrorail from Dulles into DC, you’ll take the Silver Line Express bus from the airport to the metro station and from there take the metro into the city. Given that Dulles International Airport is further away, plan on an hour to an hour and a half to the event site depending on traffic, mode of transportation and time of day.
Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI)
Baltimore Washington International Airport is located north of Anne Arundel County, Maryland about ten miles south of Baltimore and 32 miles northeast of Washington, DC. BWI is the busiest airport in the region serving 25 million passengers annually. There are several options to get from BWI to the Quality Talks event site. You can take advantage of the transit options taking Amtrak or MARC Train from the airport to DC’s Union Station where you will take DC’s Metrorail service to the event site. In order to take advantage of these options, you will take a bus from the airport terminal to the train station. You can also take a cab or ridesharing service or rent a car. Plan on an hour to an hour and a half between BWI airport and Washington’s Union Station.
